Handmade in my North Berwick studio, this custom River Thames ring turns one of London’s most recognisable lines into a personal sterling silver ring. It might represent the city where you met, lived, got engaged or married, or you can simply wear it to have a piece of London to always take with to you.

I carefully hand-saw a solid silver band into two interlocking halves, using the complete stretch or your chosen stretch of the River Thames as the line where they meet. One half has a soft matt finish and the other is polished, bringing the winding shape of the river into focus when the ring is worn.

Available in 6mm or 8mm widths, this design can be worn as a distinctive London wedding ring, an anniversary ring or an everyday reminder of the city you love. You can also add a tiny ethically sourced diamond to mark a particular place along the Thames.

After you order, I’ll create a mock-up of your chosen stretch of river and, if selected, the diamond position. You’ll be able to approve the design before I begin making your ring.

River Thames Ring FAQ

  • Yes. You can choose any meaningful stretch of the Thames, from a small section around a particular landmark to a longer route through London. Tell me the area or two points you have in mind and I’ll create a mock-up at the scale that works best around the ring.

  • Yes, they are two separate pieces. When the ring is correctly sized, they sit snugly together on your finger. Because they are not permanently joined, they may move slightly if the ring is loose or your hands are cold.

  • Yes. I can flush-set a tiny ethically sourced diamond to mark a place along the river, such as where you met, got engaged, married, lived or shared another important memory. I’ll include its position in your mock-up for approval.

  • The ring is available in 6mm and 8mm widths. People with larger hands often choose 8mm and those with smaller hands often choose 6mm, men tend to opt for the 8mm while women opt for 6mm but there are no fixed rules. As two-part rings are difficult to resize, I recommend using my Ring Measuring Service if you are unsure.

  • Yes. It can be made as a personal London wedding ring, anniversary present, milestone birthday gift or a reminder of time spent in the city. If it is a surprise and you do not know the recipient’s ring size, contact me before ordering and I can talk you through the options.

  • Each ring is presented in our signature pebble-shaped box, which is made from sustainable mulberry paper. You'll also receive a polishing cloth, Scotch-Brite, and a care guide so you can keep your ring looking its best for years to come.
