This handmade sterling silver ring captures the outline of any place that means something to you - whether it’s your local beach, a favourite holiday spot, or the shape of a coastline that brings you special memories.

Each ring is made to order by Hannah in her seaside studio in North Berwick. Your chosen stretch of coastline is hand-cut from a piece of recycled silver, each cut pieces sits together perfectly on the finger. The result is a striking piece of jewellery with a deeply personal story behind it.

Available in 6mm or 8mm widths, the ring is finished one half matte and one half polished to distinguish the coastline and the sea. You can also choose to add a tiny diamond to mark a special spot on the map.

Coastline Ring FAQ

  • We need enough coastline to go right around the band. Just let me know the place you have in mind and I’ll take a look at the map to find the right scale. Sometimes it works best to zoom right in on a single bay, other times a longer stretch of coast works better. I’ll send over a mock-up before we start.

  • The coastline ring is made in two separate pieces - land and sea. If the sizing is spot on, they sit snug on your finger and stay together as you wear it. They’re not fixed, so if the ring is loose or your hands are cold, the halves may move.

  • Yes - I can set an ethically sourced flush diamond into one half of the ring to mark a particular location. Just let me know where, and I’ll send you a layout to confirm the perfect placement.

  • Absolutely. I work in recycled silver, gold and platinum. You can choose any combination of precious metals. I don’t work in non-precious metals.

  • Yes - like all jewellery, your ring will evolve with wear, but it’s easy to bring the ring back to it’s original look. Over time, the matte side will gradually burnish and the polished side may pick up fine scratches. I include a little care kit with every ring so you can refresh the textures at home if you wish, or just contact me.

  • Each ring is presented in our signature pebble-shaped box, which is made from sustainable mulberry paper. You'll also receive a polishing cloth, Scotch-Brite, and a care guide so you can keep your ring looking its best for years to come.
